The Requirements Engineering Magazine is an independent online magazine, published every four months by IREB.
The Requirements Engineering Magazine shall serve as a platform for the active exchange of professionals on Requirements Engineering (RE). It is cost free in order to motivate as many professionals as possible to read the articles and thus give them the opportunity to expand their range of knowledge. Articles around the RE-topic are contributed by international professionals from the fields of BA and RE. Everybody is welcome to submit articles, may she/he be IREB member or not!
As the Requirements Engineering Magazine provides a global platform for the active exchange on RE, the articles solely reflect the authors’ viewpoints and do not necessarily express the opinion of the IREB; some articles might not represent the official position of IREB.
Well, the RE Magazine has now grown to the point where it will soon be necessary to provide a feature to search for authors and articles. In this context the current motto “Building the extreme” does not mean that we want to reinvent Google, but we definitely do need to do something for our readers so that you can conveniently search previous issues - and hopefully find the article that you’re looking for!
In relation with the recently launched RE@Agile working group (Requirements Engineering in an agile context) I was myself looking for a certain article in the previous issues – and could not find it. We took the conscious decision not to build such a search feature in the beginning, as the need was simply not there given the small number of issues and articles. Following the “we cross the bridge when we get there” principle, we had indefinitely postponed this feature.
Now the time has come to deal with it: the feature has risen to the top of our backlog. So we will kick off some sprints, together with our web agency, with the aim of offering our readers an improved service with a clearer index and a possible search function in 2016.
Until then searching is still a bit more work, but manageable – in the meantime I have found the article I was looking for… Apropos finding: In this issue you’ll find an article presenting the first project that was sponsored within the IREB Academy Program.
Best wishes and enjoy reading!
