The Requirements Engineering Magazine is an independent online magazine, published every four months by IREB.
The Requirements Engineering Magazine shall serve as a platform for the active exchange of professionals on Requirements Engineering (RE). It is cost free in order to motivate as many professionals as possible to read the articles and thus give them the opportunity to expand their range of knowledge. Articles around the RE-topic are contributed by international professionals from the fields of BA and RE. Everybody is welcome to submit articles, may she/he be IREB member or not!
As the Requirements Engineering Magazine provides a global platform for the active exchange on RE, the articles solely reflect the authors’ viewpoints and do not necessarily express the opinion of the IREB; some articles might not represent the official position of IREB.
With the launch of this 3rd issue of the RE magazine we almost feel like old hands in the field of online magazines. Over time all the processes have settled and meeting the deadlines is no longer quite the challenge it has been for the first two issues.
This is not only based on our own merits: rather, we see it as the result of the growing acceptance of the RE Magazine!
It seems that many professionals have been waiting for some time for a magazine that clearly addresses professional Requirements Engineering issues. Some have submitted articles immediately, others appear to have been watching to see if the RE Magazine survives, and at what quality, before submitting an article.
Meanwhile articles are submitted continuously, among them more and more submissions from well-known professionals in the community. I’m sure you already recognized some of the names in this issue as well as in the two previous ones. Don’t get me wrong: We are not just looking for prominent names. We are more than happy to have them but in the end it is content that counts and high quality articles are the backbone of this magazine.
Not only authors from the RE and BA community have contributed to the success of the RE Magazine. In addition a number of professionals who liked the idea of our online magazine have started to support us with proof-reading and other types of assistance. All of these people are contributing to the success of the RE Magazine and I would like to thank them very much! Together we are raising the level of the RE Magazine more and more – we are gaining height!
